Book Tag: You’re Not Good Enough Tag

NotGoodEnoughTag.jpg

Hello everyone!

When I first saw the title of this book tag a few months ago, my automatic first thought was “Oh boy, this is going to be a problematic tag.” And then I watched the original video and read the questions and I discovered that this was one of the most hilarious tags I’ve ever come across! This tag was created by Becca from BeccaTheBookReviewer and Chami from ReadLikeWildfire; you can watch their original tag video here.

Basically, you’re supposed to write out 30 names of different fictional characters, pick two names at random for each question, and then only choose one character as your answer for every question. I’ve always wanted to do this tag because it looked like loads of fun and I was inspired to finally do it after seeing Lauren from Wonderless Reviews do the tag. (Credit to Lauren for having the idea of using a random online generator instead of writing down the actual answers. Thank goodness for technology because I’m honestly too lazy to get up and actually write out all of my answers on different sheets of paper.) So, without further ado, here’s me trying to decipher between choosing some of my favorite and least favorite characters!

1. You only have one more spot on your spelling bee team,
who would you pick to complete your team?
Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games trilogy
or
Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter series

Okay, I think this is a fairly obvious pick. I love Katniss because she’s certainly a badass when it comes to competing in the Hunger Games, but I’m definitely picking Hermione for this one. She’s practically a genius and she’s one of my all-time favorite literary characters, so of course I’m going to pick her!

2. Both characters want to kill you, which one would
you kill first so you have a better chance of surviving?
Dorian Havilliard from the Throne of Glass series
or
Rowan Whitethorn from the Throne of Glass series

Why, why, why. I don’t want to kill either of them. WHY DID I HAVE TO CHOOSE MY TWO FAVORITE CHARACTERS FROM THRONE OF GLASS. Okay, technically it wasn’t me that chose it was the computer randomly picking but, GAH. Okay, so, for the sake of this being a non-spoiler post I won’t say anything too detailed about my thought process at the moment. But comparing both Dorian and Rowan, I guess I’d have to kill… Rowan…? I mean, he is a massive fae warrior so I guess he’d be the bigger threat… *huddles self into a corner because I love both Rowan and Dorian immensely*

3. You’re on The Bachelor/Bachelorette and you’re down to these two characters, which one are you going to give your rose to?
Noah Shaw from the Mara Dyer trilogy
or
Tamlin from the Court of Thorns and Roses series

HAHAHA, yeah this is such a tough decision.

Noah Shaw. Without a shadow of a doubt, Noahfreaking. Shaw.

4. You’ve been chosen for the Hunger Games,
who would most likely volunteer in your place?
Dolores Umbridge from the Harry Potter series
or
Tessa Gray from the Infernal Devices trilogy

Okay, definitely Tessa Gray. Let’s be realistic here; Dolores Umbridge would probably be the person in charge of the Hunger Games in this scenario.

5. You’re stranded on an island. Which
character would you sacrifice to engage in cannibalism?
America Singer from The Selection series
or
Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter series

I guess I’d have to pick America for this. My theory is that I’d want Draco to stay alive in order for him to kindly Apparate us somewhere else (preferably Hogwarts). Or, my plan could completely backfire and I’d be left stranded on an island by myself because we’ve just sacrificed America in the name of fictional-character-cannibalism and Draco has magically disappeared (most likely so he can complain about being on an island with a Muggle and I guarantee that his father will hear about this). Yikes. Here’s hoping that in this hypothetical situation, Draco would be a decent person for at least five minutes and consider saving a Harry Potter-loving Muggle. (Okay, now I’m wondering if I should’ve saved America instead…)

6. You’re the next DC/Marvel superhero (with your
own TV show of course), who is your sidekick?
Juliette Ferrars from the Shatter Me trilogy
or
Bella Swan from the Twilight series

JULIETTE, oh my gosh. By the end of Ignite Me I had grown so attached to Juliette’s character so, yes, definitely her. Plus, she kind of already has her own superpowers so…

7. You’re a manager of an avocado admiring company,
who would you fire for lack of communication skills?
Blue Sargent from The Raven Cycle series
or
Adam Kent from the Shatter Me trilogy

HAHAHA, wow another insanely hard one.
(Do you sense the sarcasm?)

Just kidding, I would fire Adam in a heartbeat. Honestly, his communication skills were horrible and when he did communicate he was fairly aggravating and I just, URGH. Also, I would never fire Blue, she’s one of my favorite characters ever.

8. You’ve just finished a book in which your favorite character
dies, which character is most likely to comfort you?
Bellatrix Lestrange from the Harry Potter series
or
Rhysand from the Court of Thorns and Roses series

Rhys, definitely Rhys, and I’m not just saying that because he’s one of my favorite characters of all-time (actually, I am, but that’s beside the point). If you’ve read A Court of Mist and Fury, I think we can all agree on this one. And… yeah, I doubt Bellatrix knows how to actually comfort someone.

9. Ugh, it’s high school. Who would most
likely be part of the popular clique?
Magnus Bane from The Mortal Instruments series
or
Clary Fray from The Mortal Instruments series

I can totally see Magnus being apart of a popular clique. He’s so eccentric and witty, so I think he’d definitely be popular in high school. *pictures Magnus Bane driving up beside me and saying, “Get in, mundane, we’re going shopping.”*

10. The day has arrived; you’re finally a year older!
Who would have the nerve to forget your birthday?
Chaol Westfall from the Throne of Glass series
or
Jace Wayland from The Mortal Instruments series

This one was actually really tough but I guess I’m going to have to go with… Chaol…? I feel like he’d be too busy with everything happening in Ardalan to even remember when people’s birthdays are.

11. You’ve just found an upcoming BookTube star.
Who would it most likely be?
Ronan Lynch from The Raven Cycle series
or
Warner from the Shatter Me trilogy

When I got these two characters I actually laughed out loud because I love them both so much but I can’t really imagine either of them having a BookTube. I guess I have to go with Warner because I think he’d do some insanely fashionable look-books along with a couple of book reviews. And then maybe he could do some tag videos with Juliette?

12. Sleepover time! Unfortunately you can
only invite one person, who would you invite?
Celaena Sardothien from the Throne of Glass series
or
Mare Barrow from the Red Queen series

Oh my gosh, definitely Celaena. Yes, yes, I know she’s an assassin and all, but could you imagine going on a shopping spree with her and then coming home and eating pizza and chocolate and fangirling over amazing romance novels? YES, PLEASE.

13. Bam, you’re pregnant. Who’s the father/mother?
Harry Potter from the Harry Potter series
or
Feyre Archeron from the Court of Thorns and Roses series

Okay, I love Feyre, but come on. It’s Harry Potter. I would not throw away the chance of having a half-blood-magical-offspring-of-the-Boy-Who-Lived-child, okay?!

14. You’ve just written a super important text.
Who would ‘see’ it, but not reply?
Richard Campbell Gansey III from The Raven Cycle series
or
Tris Prior from the Divergent trilogy

I’m extremely sure that Gansey (my favorite little cinnamon bun) would reply, so I’m going to go with Tris for this one.

15. You’ve just woken up and it’s time for breakfast.
Your mom has been replaced by… who?!
Mara Dyer from the Mara Dyer trilogy
or
Four from the Divergent trilogy

I honestly don’t really know who to pick for this one. I mean, I guess I can go with Mara considering Four lives in a dystopian world so it’d be more realistic for Mara to all of a sudden replace my mom. Plus, the Mara Dyer trilogy is the only book series that my mom has ever read (and thoroughly enjoyed), so yeah, I’m going with Mara!

That was one of the strangest, most hilarious tags I’ve ever done and I hope you all enjoyed reading my answers to it. I tag anyone who wants to complete this tag because it’s honestly so much fun!
