I’m really excited to be completing this tag because I always love rapid fire questions. So, without further ado, here’s my responses to this tag.
E-book or physical book?
Definitely physical book, I love the feeling of holding an actual book in my hands. This being said, I have nothing against e-books (I have a Kindle), but I think physical books are prettier.
Paperback or hardback?
I used to love paperback, but lately I’ve been buying the hardback editions of books because they look nicer on my bookshelves.
Online or in-store book shopping?
Online shopping, it’s so much cheaper! (But I do enjoy a trip to Barnes & Noble every now and then.)
Trilogies or series?
It depends on the books and the story, but usually series.
Heroes or villains?
I was going to say heroes but I do have a place in my heart for misunderstood villains.
A book you want everyone to read?
Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi and A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas because the fangirl feels were real with those books.
Recommend an underrated book?
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone, it’s SO GOOD.
The last book you finished?
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater!
The last book you bought?
The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater, Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater, and The Assassin’s Blade by Sarah J. Maas!
Weirdest thing you’ve used as a bookmark?
Nothing…? I dog-ear my books because I hate using bookmarks. (#sorrynotsorry, judge me.)
Used books: yes or no?
I prefer no, simply because I love new books and they have a certain new-book-smell that I really love.
Top three favorite genres?
Young adult dystopian, young adult contemporary, and young adult fantasy!
Borrow or buy?
I usually buy so I can display the books that I read on my bookshelves.
Characters or plot?
They’re each essential to a good story, so definitely both.
Long or short books?
I prefer books that are around 350-ish pages long, anything over 450 pages intimidates me. But if it’s a book from a series or author that I enjoy, then I don’t mind long books.
Long or short chapters?
I don’t mind long chapters, but I do really like short chapters.
Name the first three books you think of…
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, and Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi!
Books that make you laugh or cry?
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, Allegiant by Veronica Roth, Clockwork Princess and City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare, Me Before You by Jojo Moyes, and If I Stay by Gayle Forman each made me cry. Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli and Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella made me laugh a lot!
Our world or fictional worlds?
Fictional worlds, but only if the author does a good job of world building!
Audiobooks: yes or no?
I can’t really give an opinion on audiobooks because I’ve never tried one, but I’d like to listen to one soon!
Do you ever judge a book by its cover?
Yes. All the time. And I know it’s horrible but… I do it a lot.
Book-to-movie or book-to-TV adaptations?
Book to movie adaptations because I feel like they’re more likely to stick with the plot of the book.
A movie or TV show you preferred to its book?
I love the TV show Pretty Little Liars and I find it more thrilling than the books by Sara Shepard.
Series or standalones?
Series, especially if I grow really attached to the story and the characters in a book!
