This week’s T5W is books you wish had sequels. This can be a stand-alone novel that you wish had a sequel or it can be the last book in a series that you wish wasn’t the last.
5. Requiem by Lauren Oliver
I dedicated so much time to rapidly reading this trilogy and, to be quite honest, the ending left me so disappointed. There was no kind of conclusiveness about it and the person that the main character ended up with I ended up not really liking at all so… yeah, I’d definitely like to see another book in this series that wraps up everything more clearly.
4. Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell
Okay, I’m in desperate need of a sequel to Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell because of that ending. The ending of this novel literally left me wanting so much more of these characters and their stories and I don’t want to spoil anything, but I will say that the mystery surrounding this ending never fails to make me anxious for a sequel.
3. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Yes, I know, Lola and Isla are basically sequels to this book. But, since this was my favorite out of the three books set in this world, I definitely want to see more of Anna and St. Clair. They’re such an amazing couple and I really want another book with them as the main characters!
2. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin
I planned out my choices for this week’s T5W a while ago, so I can happily say that technically this series is getting a sequel (kind of)! It’s going to be a spin-off series, so I’m hoping it acts as a sequel and shows us what happens after the conclusion of this trilogy, because I really want to read more about these characters and what happens next.
1. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
I sincerely apologize that I can’t do one of these posts without mentioning this trilogy, but I can’t help it! This is my favorite series, okay?! I will forever be wishing that Tahereh will be amazing enough to release another book in this series. Or just another novella. Or just an epilogue. Anything. I will read anything else she releases that’s set within this world.
This week’s honorable mentions go to P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, which IS getting a sequel *does happy dance*, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows because obviously. And that’s it for this week’s Top 5 Wednesday! Thank you all so much for reading and comment below with a stand-alone book or the last book in a series that you wish had a sequel.
